We hope you are all staying safe and well during these unprecedented times. Following the club AGM and recent communications from England Korfball, we wanted to provide you all with a club update.

If you would be interested in any of the vacant positions, or want to know more about any of them, please get in touch with Lizzie or Joe. In particular we require a Covid 19 officer, without this position filled, our return to play will be delayed. If you know anyone who would be interested in undertaking this role for us, please get in touch. They would be required to attend training to ensure we are complying with our risk assessment (or send someone on their behalf) and look after our track and trace details. They would also be required to remain up to date with any changes in government guidance and ensure that all volunteers are updated accordingly. 2019/20 Season Fees As the season was cut short last year and we are not currently training or competing, we understand that club members require clarification on the status of fees. Please accept our apologies for a lack of communication and any confusion around this. We have been waiting for further information from England Korfball. The Korfball season started in September 2019 and all teams played most of their matches with only 12 games not completed over the club’s six teams. As a result, the club paid for England Korfball affiliation fees, Norfolk affiliation fees, halls for training and match fees (including match officials) for the games played this season. Most of this cost is incurred at the start of the season and our fees then cover this expenditure throughout the season. The club's financial year runs from September to August each year and fees are pro rata’d across 12 months of the year. We have made the decision to offer a refund to players for one month’s membership from the 2019/20 season. If you would like to request this, please email Phil at [email protected] For those with outstanding fees for this year, please ensure these are up to date as soon as possible. If you are unsure what you owe, please contact Philip Buttinger. Alternatively, he will be in touch soon. Any refunds will be taken into account when calculating outstanding monies. 2020/21 Season Fees Additionally, the club is happy to refund members who have paid for September, October and November 2020. If you would like a refund, please email Phil at [email protected]. Alternatively, you may decide to donate your membership fees from this period to contribute towards the running costs of the club during this time. If you choose to do this, the club is very grateful for your support. Please don’t cancel your standing orders. Depending on when training and competition are able to restart, we will issue further refunds if required. If you have cancelled your standing order already and are unsure whether or not you are entitled to a refund then please email Phil on the above email address. Membership fees will need to be paid again from December on the assumption that we are able to start training at this point. Return to Play On Friday 16th October, England Korfball announced their return to play strategy which has been approved by the Government. This is still subject to any other restrictions that are currently in place, for example, the rule of six and any restrictions in place from our training venues. We have had a committee meeting to discuss how this can be implemented in order to bring back training sessions whilst ensuring player safety as this is our top priority. We will share the details of this with the club as soon as possible. The England Korfball guidance is available here https://www.englandkorfball.co.uk/home/covid-19/ so please have a read as these are the rules we will be required to follow. Matches restarting is outside of our control but we will share more information on this as we receive it. Provisionally, we are looking at squad players training on Wednesday evenings at Hewett School with club players training on a Sunday afternoon at UEA but keep your eyes peeled for more information. If anyone has any specific concerns relating to the return to play please get in touch. Best wishes, Lizzie and Joe
